Gondo AA

This coffee comes from the Gondo Factory in Kenya’s Murang’a County, where 727 small-scale farmers grow coffee on tiny plots of land—usually no more than a couple of hectares each. Most farms are just a quick motorbike ride from the factory, so cherries are picked and delivered the same day, ripe and ready.

After harvest, the cherries go through a traditional washed process. They’re fermented in cement tanks for 16–18 hours, then washed and laid out to dry on raised beds in the sun for nearly two weeks. Clean water from the nearby Kananahu stream is used and reused with care, showing how much these producers value both quality and their environment.

This lot is made up of several classic Kenyan varieties—SL28, K7, Ruiru 11, and Batian—each bringing something special to the cup. The result is a vibrant, complex coffee with bright citrus and floral notes, balanced by a juicy sweetness.
