Finca La Roma Natural
It feels like every year, our friend Daniel Valasquez at Campesino Coffee introduces us to a new producer or family who we simply cannot believe we haven’t been working with for years already. This year, that is the Enciso family at Finca La Roma. The Enciso family has been growing coffee at Finca La Roma in Gaitania, Tolima since the early 2000s. A few years ago they set up a community wet mill at the farm and have been purchasing and processing coffee from neighboring farms, focusing on processing methods and quality control. Finca La Roma processes primarily typica, caturra and San Bernardo.
Finca La Roma’s natural processed lot is one of the most refreshing natural Colombian coffees we’ve enjoyed this year. In contrast to some of the more expressive natural Colombian coffees we’ve served lately, Finca La Roma is incredibly composed with flavors that present as more inherent to the coffee itself than to the process it underwent.
