The Quirk Hotel is a world class boutique hotel located in the historic Broad Street corridor of Richmond, Virginia. Once a bustling hub of upscale retail shopping in Richmond, the area is now home to dozens of art galleries, restaurants, and hotels.
Quirk is the brainchild of founders Ted and Katie Ukrop. The hotel takes its name from Katie’s popular gallery/boutique that occupied a space nearby until she was able to encorporate it into this stunning historic hotel space.
Managed by Destination Hotels, Quirk Hotel includes a fine dining restaurant, Maple & Pine, a rooftop bar, and a coffee shop in the main lobby entrance featuring a full espresso bar and batch brew coffee.
The Quirk Coffee Bar project called for a simple and elegant visual presentation. Because batch brewed coffee is shared between Maple & Pine and the Quirk Coffee Bar, the batch brewing system is tucked remotely in a server station, leaving the coffee bar, itself, reserved for a minimal set-up including La Marzocco espresso equipment and Mahlkonig grinders.
To highlight the partnership between Blanchard’s Coffee Roasting Co. and the Quirk Hotel, we developed an exclusive co-branded retail coffee package. The package is based off a digital rendering of Katie Ukrop’s mother’s floral print curtains, paired with a minimalist label designed by Skirven & Croft. Inside the bag, customers will find a rotating featured single origin coffee from our offerings list. The Quirk Coffee package was selected as one of the twenty best new coffee packages at SCA in 2016.
