Quilla Brothers

The Peru Quilla Brothers is a product of coffees Abdon and Juan Quilla in Pacaysuizo Peru.  The brothers' farms, Quillabamba and Chillimana Chucalpampa, are tucked away in a very remote area in southern Peru.  The farms are located on the opposite side of a mountain from eachother. The closest road is a 2 hour walk from their farms.  The family gets the coffee off the farm by each carrying a 46kg sack to the road. Juan’s wife has the only cell phone on the farm that she used to coordinate pickup of the coffee from the small road in Pacaysuizo. It’s impressive to see the quality of coffees that can emerge from such difficult journeys

The Bourbon variety from both farms is pulped then wet-fermented for 15-20 hours then dried in parabolic dryers for 7-10 days. This coffee starts with a juicy clementine acidity with some red fruit currant-like flavor, and finishes with a spicy sweet finish like cola.
