La Papaya Sidra Washed

Grown high in Ecuador’s Andean valleys at Hacienda La Papaya, Yacuri, and Yunguilla, this washed Sidra shows just how expressive this variety can be when clarity takes the lead. Sidra is Ecuador’s own hybrid, bringing together Bourbon sweetness, Typica structure, and soft floral notes that hint at its Ethiopian roots. Under the care of Juan Peña and the CafExporto team, each lot is managed with a level of precision that keeps everything in balance from tree to drying bed.

For this washed lot, ripe cherries are carefully selected, pulped, and fermented before being rinsed clean with fresh mountain water and dried slowly in the sun. The process highlights Sidra’s natural elegance, letting its brighter and more delicate qualities come through.

In the cup, this coffee leans crisp and refined, with notes of cantaloupe and tangerine layered over honey-sweetness and a light floral lift. It is a clean, structured expression of Sidra that feels both vibrant and composed.
