Chirripo Geisha

This exceptional geisha lot hails from Costa Rica’s youngest growing region, Brunca. It is located in the south of the country where the highlands of Coto Brus and Pérez Zeledón meet rich volcanic soils and a climate ideal for cultivating world-class coffee. This coffee reflects the region’s dedication to quality and tradition, with roots tracing back to the 1950s.

At Don Senel Micromill, this geisha underwent a meticulous natural process. Ripe cherries were handpicked and carefully sorted before being laid out on raised beds inside a shaded greenhouse, where airflow and temperature were closely managed. Over 30 to 40 days of slow, controlled drying allowed the cherries to dehydrate evenly, developing deep sweetness and layered complexity. Regular monitoring of Brix levels and ambient conditions ensured a consistently expressive cup. After reaching ideal moisture content, the coffee was rested before hulling and export preparation.

The result is a stunning showcase of the geisha variety’s floral elegance and silky texture. Expect a clean, refined cup with vibrant aromatics, a honeyed sweetness, and a nuanced profile that evolves with every sip.
