La Papaya Sidra Natural

Grown high in Ecuador’s Andean valleys at Hacienda La Papaya, this Sidra variety is a beautiful example of how thoughtful farming and remarkable terroir come together in the cup. Sidra is a homegrown Ecuadorian hybrid with Bourbon sweetness, Typica clarity, and delicate Ethiopian floral character, giving it a profile that feels both vibrant and refined. Under the care of Juan Peña and the CafExporto team, every tree is managed with meticulous attention so the coffee can express its full potential. The result is a cup that feels polished yet expressive, balancing a syrupy body with bright, fruit-forward clarity.

This natural process lot brings out Sidra’s lush, tropical personality. Carefully handpicked ripe cherries are slowly dried for several weeks, allowing the fruit’s sugars to infuse the seed and deepen the coffee’s sweetness and aromatics. In the cup, expect layers of blackberry and bright tangerine acidity all wrapped in a smooth, tropical sweetness with an aftertaste of fermented tea. It is a dynamic and elegant coffee that feels equally at home as a special morning ritual or a brewed cup to savor slowly.
