El Turpial

Colombia El Turpial Geisha comes from producer Emerson Felipe Narváez, whose farm sits high in the mountains of Nariño, near Colombia’s Pacific coast. After years away from coffee—including time as a soldier and baker—Emerson returned to the land with a focus on quality and innovation. His farm, El Turpial, is remote and challenging to access, but its unique microclimate makes it ideal for growing complex, high-elevation coffee. Emerson has carefully experimented with a wide range of varieties, ultimately developing a grafting method that allows delicate Geisha plants to thrive in these harsh conditions by pairing them with stronger Caturra roots.

This washed Geisha is selectively hand-harvested and undergoes a multi-step fermentation—first in ozone-cleaned GrainPro bags, then in tanks before drying on raised beds. In the cup, it’s clean and expressive, with floral aromatics like jasmine and lemongrass, followed by flavors of bergamot, white peach, and cane sugar. Bright, balanced, and transparent, this coffee reflects Emerson’s dedication and precision at every step.
