Karagoto AB

Fall is in full swing and that means it’s time for us to cozy up to some warming full bodied coffees. We have a plethora of coffees from Africa this year but this sweet and unctious profile doesn’t show up much in our offerings.

This coffee comes to us from the Karagoto Factory in the Karatina region of Nyeri County, Kenya. The varieties represented in the Karagoto Factory are 95% SL 28 and SL 34 varieties, as well as 11% Ruiru and 1% Batian. These varieties contribute to the prominent Kenyan flavor characteristics of this coffee. The sweetness of this coffee is reminiscent of dried fruit but lingering like a butterscotch candy. This coffee can be brewed many different ways to highlight the notes of golden raisin, butterscotch, and walnut.
