Ruarai AA

Ruarai comes from the foothills of Mount Kenya, where rich red volcanic soil and cool elevations create ideal conditions for growing exceptional coffee. Named after the rocky Ruarai River that runs alongside the washing station, this lot is produced by members of the Ruthaka Farmers Cooperative Society, a group of roughly 600 smallholder farmers cultivating coffee on small family farms throughout the region.

Cherries are delivered to the cooperative’s washing station and processed the same day they are harvested. After careful sorting, the coffee is fully washed using recirculated water before being slowly dried in the sun. The result is a cup that feels distinctly Kenyan: vibrant, layered sweetness and a lingering finish.
